Recipe: Melt-in-Your Buttermilk Chocolate Cookies

It may looked like a cow pat cookie (as per described by Iman) but this one is certainly a winner among our friends and family. :)

Melt-in-Your-Mouth Buttermilk Chocolate Cookies
(Makes about 4 dozens of cookies)

2 cups of all purpose flour
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 cup of butter
3/4 cup of cocoa powder
2 cups of sugar
1 tsp of vanilla extract
2/3 cup of buttermilk
(substitution: 10ml of distilled white vinegar & the rest of the 2/3 cup with fresh milk)
1 - 1 1/4 cups of chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 180 degree of Celsius. Then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.
3. Melt the butter in a small, microwave safe bowl. And then in a large bowl, combine the melted butter (still warm) with cocoa powder and whisk until very smooth.
4. Whisk in sugar, vanilla extract and buttermilk and stir until no streaks of flour remain.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
6. Drop dough in 1-inch balls into prepared baking sheet, leaving about two inches between cookies to allow for spread.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until cookies are set around the edges.Cool for 2-3 minutes on a baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack with a spatula to cool completely.

Have fun baking it! ;)
